Did you know ???

  • Leaving your PC ON at night leads to release of around 1000 Kgs of CO2 and other poisonous gases in one year...

  • Leaving your normal Monitor ON at a screen-saver mode at night is no better than a Monitor in full use and it releases around 500 Kg of CO2 and other poisonous gases in one year...

Anyone of you has got a fundamental right to ask me as to :

"How can leaving a Monitor or system turned ON leads to release of CO2 ??? "

My answer to your above question is (a little cause and effect) :

  • By switching off the Monitor or your PC, you save Power/Electricity
  • This power actually gets generated by burning a lot of fossil fuels like Coal, Oil and various other...
  • Inturn, Burning of these fossil fuels to produce electricity releases CO2 and other poisonous gases in the atmosphere... (which are really harmful...)
Hence Proved @@@

Note: The data above for the amount of CO2 released is approximate and is collected from various sources like Wikipedia.com etc.

So, I hope this post is able to impress you to switch your Monitors off or put them on Hibernate Mode or Switch them off... In effect, you would save Energy, Environment and Economy (Money)...

Happy Saving :)
